2025 Open Enrollment

What You Need to Do

For most benefits, no action is required. If you want to:

  • Contribute to a Health Care FSA or Dependent Care FSA for 2025: Enroll during open enrollment. Your current FSA elections will not automatically roll over to 2025.
  • Add coverage or make changes to your current coverage: Follow the instructions in your Open Enrollment Decision Guide.
  • Add or remove dependents from medical, dental and/or vision coverage without a qualifying event (such as marriage, birth or divorce): Make those changes during open enrollment with copies of required dependent documentation through Workday.
  • Participate in the wellness rewards program: Opt in no later than January 15, 2025. Your 2024 enrollment will not automatically roll over to 2025. LiveWell Reward$ provides lower out-of-pocket limits (Classic or Premier Plans), and you will receive online cash incentives by completing wellness activities. Log in to umr.com and opt in for the LiveWell Reward$ wellness program by January 15, 2025.
  • Participate in Critical Illness Insurance: Enroll during open enrollment. Even if you are currently enrolled, your 2024 enrollment will not automatically roll over to 2025.

Open Enrollment Decision Guide

Health Savings Plan

The IRS-mandated individual deductible will increase from $3,200 to $3,300.

Health Savings Account

2025 contribution limits (set by the IRS):

  • Individual: $4,300
  • Family: $8,550

If you are enrolled in the Health Savings Account, available for only those in the Health Savings Plan, the university will contribute $650 individual/$1,200 family to your account.

You can make an additional $1,000 catch-up contribution if you will be age 55 or older by December 31, 2025.

Flexible Spending Account

Enrollment is required to participate in the Healthcare or Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts; your 2024 enrollment will not roll forward to 2025.

* As of October 1, 2024, the IRS has not issued updated limits for 2025. Given campus-level coding and publication deadlines, the university will use 2024 maximums for 2025.

Access discounts on gyms and online wellness programs through UMR’s OnePass Select program.

Wellness Program

Complete LiveWell Reward$ wellness activities to earn up to 500 total points. For 2025, no more than 200 points can be earned through preventive screenings and exams. The remaining 300 points can be earned by completing action plans, the tobacco pledge and/or participating in ongoing condition care.

You must opt into the LiveWell Reward$ wellness program annually. Your 2024 enrollment will not roll forward to 2025.

Critical Illness Insurance

For 2025, if you want to enroll in critical illness insurance or continue your current coverage, you must re-enroll. Your 2024 enrollment will not carry forward to 2025.
