Wellness Program Reminders and Important Updates
The 2023-2024 wellness program has been popular—almost 8,000 university employees elected to enroll and participate.
The wellness program will continue for 2024-2025 with few changes. Like last year, employees will be eligible to earn up to 500 total points, redeemable for up to $500 in gift cards, merchandise, and other rewards.
Wellness program enrollment for 2024-2025 will be through the UMR website. Eligible participants will continue to be employees who are enrolled in the university health plan. Employees will still earn 50 points per completed action plan or screening.
New for 2024-2025
Participants may earn no more than:
- 200 total points through preventive screenings and exams
- 100 points by participating in an ongoing condition care program
Total points are limited to 500 combined points by completing wellness action plans such as healthy eating, stress management, financial wellness, or back care.
Completing the 2023-2024 Program Year
The CURRENT wellness program period is October 1, 2023, through September 30, 2024.
Current participants may continue to accrue reward points through September 30. Points may be reported through November 30.
Points accrued on and before September 30, 2024, but not reported by November 30, 2024, will be forfeited.
With completion of the first year of the wellness program, all points that are accrued and reported but unused for the current program year will carry forward into the new program year. Employees enrolling for the new wellness program year will not lose any accrued and reported but unused points for the current program period.
Starting the 2024-2025 Program Year
The NEW wellness program period will begin on October 1, 2024, and end on September 30, 2025.
Enrollment for the wellness program will open on the UMR website on October 1.
To participate in the new wellness program period, a new wellness enrollment is required. Current participants will not be continued for the new period without a new wellness enrollment and current participants not re-enrolling in wellness for the new program year will forfeit all accrued points on September 30.
Points accrued on and after October 1, 2024, for preventive screenings will be credited toward the 2024-2025 plan year.
Starting January 1, 2025, participants will be able to access action plans.
Just as in the current plan period, new hires on and after January 1, 2025, are not eligible to enroll in the wellness program for the 2024-2025 program year.
For employees hired on and before December 31, 2024, the final date to enroll in wellness is January 15, 2025.
After the 2024-2025 plan year, unused accrued points will be forfeited at the end of the plan year (September 30, 2025). Beginning October 1, 2025, no prior points will roll forward into the 2025-2026 plan year.
For current and future participants, all points are forfeited upon termination of employment, when employees end their university health plan enrollment, or when employees are no longer enrolled in the wellness program.
