Child Care

Child care services are available for employees of the Arkansas Agricultural Experiment Station.

The University provides you with programs and resources to help you care for your loved ones and maintain a healthy work/life balance.

With over 300 licensed child care providers in Northwest Arkansas, finding care for your children doesn’t have to be difficult. Use these resources to find convenient, cost-effective care for your children.

Jean Tyson Child Development Study Center

The Jean Tyson Child Development Study Center (JTCDSC), open Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m., is a University of Arkansas family-centered program available for children ages eight weeks to five years old.

The JTCDSC focuses on best practices in early childhood education. Early childhood professionals provide individualized care for all children to meet their physical, social, emotional and cognitive needs.

The JTCDSC is located at 924 West Douglas Street, University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, AR 72701. To contact the JTCDSC, call 479.575.7428. For enrollment information, please contact Doug Walsh, Executive Director for Business Operations. Tuition and fees are based on the child’s age.

Child Care Resource and Referral Center

The Child Care Resource and Referral Center is a non-profit agency serving Washington, Benton, Madison and Carroll counties. Contact the Center at 479.751.3463 or 800.KIDS.LOG.

Child Care Provider Database

The Department of Human Services Division of Child Care provides an online search for licensed child care providers in your area.

Earle Love Child Study Center

The Earle Love Child Study Center provides children with hands-on experience in social development, literacy, music, art, science, mathematics, cultural awareness and practical life skills.

Each child is supported individually to promote stimulated learning and goal attainment.

Tuition and Fees

Enrollment fee: $40
Supply fee: $75 per year, paid in 3 installments of $25 each (July 1, August 1, and January 1)
Children one to three years old: $125 per week
Children three to five years old: $100 per week (if fully toilet trained)

Little Learners Academy

The Little Learners Academy (lab school) offers child care services for infants, toddlers and preschoolers. It fosters social, emotional, physical, cognitive and creative development in a safe and healthy learning environment. The Academy is open Monday – Friday, 7 a.m. – 5:30 p.m., based on the calendar established by UA - Pulaski Tech. Enrollment

If you are interested in enrolling your child, bring your child’s immunization record to the lab school. A lab school employee will provide you with a tour of the facility. Complete the required enrollment forms and return them to the lab school (drop off or mail) or complete the forms when you take your tour.

Children are kept on the waiting list for up to 90 days. Once a spot is available, the Academy will contact you by phone.

Tuition

Cost varies based on the age of your child. Contact Little Learners Academy for tuition rates.

The lab school participates in the DHS voucher program for UA - Pulaski Tech students and the FEEA program for VA employees.

USDA Food Program

Meals are available to enrolled children at the Little Learners Academy at no charge or at a reduced charge.

Little Learners Academy is located at 1500 West Pershing Boulevard at the bottom of the hill from the UA - Pulaski Tech Main Campus in North Little Rock.

Child Development Center

The UAPB Child Development Center is a state-licensed early childhood education program that provides childcare services for children 12 months to 4 years old. Students majoring in Human Development and Family Studies, as well as other related disciplines, work at the Center to gain valuable hands-on experience.

The Child Development Center is available to the children of students, faculty and staff, as well as the general public, on a first-come first-serve basis.

Enrollment Costs

What you’ll pay depends on your child’s age:

Infants: $95 per week
Toddlers: $85 per week
Preschool: $85 per week.

Voucher funding is accepted. The Child Development Center offers federal and state scholarships for infants, toddlers and children who are three and four years old before the State Education Department’s cutoff date for entering kindergarten. Location

The Child Development Center is located directly behind the Adair-Greenhouse Human Sciences building (the main Human Sciences office).

Hours of operation are 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday-Thursday, and 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Fridays.

The Center is a Better Beginnings Level Three program, which is reserved for programs that voluntarily exceed minimum standards and operate at the highest level of quality recognized in the State.
