If you are unable to work because of illness or injury, you can use sick leave for paid time away from work. You can also use sick leave if you need treatment from or a consultation with a licensed health care provider. And, you can use sick leave for time off due to the death or serious illness of an immediate family member (bereavement).
Eligibility
You are eligible for paid sick leave if you are employed half-time or greater and are on an appointment period of nine-months or more.
Sick Leave Benefit
If you work full-time: You accrue eight hours of sick leave for each month you work. You can roll over up to 960 unused sick leave hours at the end of the year.
If you work less than full-time: You accrue sick leave in the same proportion to time worked, based on the full-time accrual rate of eight hours of sick leave per month worked.
